| > Billing Kits | A good start. Every time.... You don't have to have built a model ship before. Or have a technical flair. Or know anything about ships. What's important is that you always choose a model which matches your own level of experience. With time and practice, you`ll gain the experience and courage necessary to try your hand on the large model ships, like the Norske Løve or Wasa.
Beginner
These models have a simple construction process some being supplied as pre-formed ABS plastic hulls. Even the plank-on-frame models are suitable for those who have never tried model building before. But remember that even the easiest model takes more than one evening to build! |
The Experienced
This level is for those who have built a model ship before, and are more seeking a more advanced model kit. Familiarity with plank-on-frame construction methods will be useful. Although these models also have a simple construction, though you will meet a number of 'challenges' on the way! |
Advanced Beginner
Models in this category are straightforward and easy to build, more complex pre-formed hull models and simple wood hull kits. These are good models to start with traditional plank-on-frame model ship construction. Modellers with kit building or some wood working skills will be able to manage these kits, the level of detail work on these models is however left up to you. |
The Expert
Even the well-trained model ship builder will find many challenges - and many hours of intensive occupation - with these large and impressive models. These sets require lots of dexterity and a perfect technique. And you'll be on your own with a lot of the details in the models. | | Billings Emile Robin Recue Ship Model (B430)
MRB 20 "Emile Robin" was delivered from the North Sea Shipyard in Ringkøbing, Denmark, in 1989. The lifeboat was named after the Parisian merchant Emile Robin, a philanthropist, cognac manufacturer and vice-president of the French charity La Société Centrale de Sauvetage des Naufragés (Society for the Salvation of Shipwrecks). Emile Robin is one of the most important benefactors in the 150 year history of the Danish Lifeboat Service. MRB 20 "Emile Robin" is permanently stationed at the lifeboat station in Hvide Sande, on the western coast of Denmark.
