The DD-537 was originally named Putnam, on the 6th Feburary 1943 she was renamed 'The Sullivans' to honour the memory of the five Sullivan brothers who were lost when the light cruiser Juneau was sank by Japanese torpedoes. Launched on the 4th April 1943, sponsored by Mrs Thomas.F.Sullivan the mother of the Sullivan brothers. Commisioned on the 30th September 1943 'The Sullivans' was deployed to the Pacific. 'The Sullivans' received nine battle stars for WW2 service and two for Korean service
The kit consists of 121 parts moulded in grey plastic, length 164mm, width 17mm, paint and glue are required to complete the model, can be built as a waterline or full hull model | |
