Departing Groton, CT in Feb 1942, the Gato saw significant action throughout WWII in the Pacific, encountering and attacking numerous Japanese ships from North to South. After the end of the war, the Gato received the Presidential Unit Citation in recognition of daring exploits for service in WWII.
The kit consists of 121 parts on 7 sprues with markings for year 1941. Completed kit measures nearly 26" long.
