The Forrestal first entered service with the U.S. Navy in 1955 and was completely modernized in 1977. It can carry up to 70 aircraft which are brought to the flight deck by means of special elevators. The Forrestal is powered by four propellers and giant steam turbines. There is a 4900 men crew. Armament: Sea sparrow rocket launchers as well as high speed aircraft guns.
