This giant amphibian assault ship represents the fourth unit of the Tawara class and was first introduced with the U.S. Navy in 1979. Equipped with state-of-the-art communications gear to co-ordinate its AV-8 Harriers, Sea Stallions and Super Cobras, the Nassau carries a battalion of Marines as well as support and combat vehicles, which are loaded and unloaded by Hovercraft.
